Subjective Well-being & Poverty in Rural Bangladesh

The Institute of Microfinance (InM) organized an in-house seminar titled “Subjective Well-being & Poverty in Rural Bangladesh” at PKSF auditorium, PKSF Bhaban, Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, on 25th August, 2008. Dr. Niaz Asadullah of University of Reading , was the keynote speaker and Prof. M.A. Baqui Khalilly, Executive Director of InM chaired in the seminar.

The purpose of this seminar was to understand how happiness is related in the rural areas of Bangladesh. Various factors were discussed about the subjective well –being which are of immense value of understanding poverty relative to happiness.
