News on International Training

InM, jointly with Banking Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BFIN), organised an international training course on “Prevention of Financial Crime in the Financial Sector” to address contemporary financial crimes--a threat to the development of global economies and its stability. The programme aimed to help understand how to detect and prevent specific financial crimes, fraud, data and information security breach, bribery and corruption and how to investigate and prosecute against the crimes. The course was exclusively designed for bank/NBFI officials of Nepal.

A total of 17 senior professionals from different banks and NBFIs from Nepal joined the course. The contents covered global efforts in preventing financial crimes; financial crimes and malpractices in general banking, advances and international banking; compliance, governance and risks; investigation and prosecution; etc. The course was conducted by the professionals of BIBM, Bangladesh Bank, Dhaka Bank, Bank Asia, and InM. The participants also visited the headquarters of Bank Asia to learn hands-on experiences on the prevention of financial crimes. Dr. Mustafa K. Mujeri, Executive Director, InM inaugurated the training programme while Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman of InM distributed the certificates among the participants in the closing ceremony. Dr. Sadeque, Director of InM Training Division was the coordinator of the course.

NEPAL and the PHILIPPINES

InM organised an international course on “Advanced Risk Management” to address the prudent risk management initiatives and efficiency of microfinance field operations practiced in  the microfinance sector of Bangladesh. Senior professionals of Nepal and the Philippines microfinance organizations and a cooperative joined the training course. This five-day course was designed to help MFIs to develop and improve the quality of their own risk management processes with special focus on problem prevention, early detection, and control. The course followed a combination of case studies, practical exercises and current affairs to bring material to life vis-à-vis covered the advanced risk management in a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Participants also visited Grameen Bank and the Sojag- NGO-MFI, their field and head offices, PKSF and InM headquarters to learn hands-on experiences.  Dr. Mustafa K. Mujeri, Executive Director, InM inaugurated the training programme and Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman, InM, distributed the certificates to the participants in the closing ceremony.

 

NEPAL

The international training course titled “Advanced Microfinance Operations” was organised at InM Training Centre during 30 March – 4 April 2019 jointly with Banking Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal Limited (BFIN), Nepal. A total of 11 participants attended the course from different MFIs of Nepal. This six-day training aimed at providing a detailed understanding of risks in microfinance programme operations and management through experience sharing and visit to BRAC, Grameen Bank, PKSF etc. This will help the Nepali practitioners replicate the hard learning in their respective organisations. The training sessions were facilitated by experienced resource persons of repute at home and abroad.

 

 

 CHINA

In collaboration with CICETE (China International Centre for Economic and Technical Exchanges), InM conducted a 3-day training on “Microfinance Product Design and Business Planning”. A total of 29 participants from different MFIs, Commercial banks, and Development Organisations attended the training course. Professor Du Xiaoshan, Chairman, China Association of Microfinance (CAM), inaugurated the training. Among others, Mr. Bai Chengyu, Director, Microfinance Division, CICETE, Ms. Ginger, Deputy Director, CICETE, were also present.

As part of international collaboration, an agreement has been signed between Institute for Inclusive Finance and Development (InM) and Lang Fang City WanXinHe Credit Guarantee Co. Ltd. (WanXinHe) to conduct training and microfinance operations.  

InM, in collaboration with DAIBANG, China organised a 5-day training on “Effective Management of Microenterprise Loans”, and “Microfinance Credit Delivery Process and Operations”, attended by the Branch Managers and Loan Officers of DAIBANG.

 

 

 

 

 

  TANZANIA
 In collaboration with UTT Microfinance, Tanzania, a 5-day training was organized on “Principles and Practices of Microfinance Program” in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Senior trainers of InM imparted the training. It is worth mentioning that high level management team of UTT Microfinance visited InM to gather microfinance experiences of PKSF and Partner Organisations (POs).   

 

 

 

  THAILAND
As a part of international training collaboration, InM and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand jointly organised an International Training Programme entitled “Design and Development of Training Materials” at InM International Training Centre, Cox’s Bazar. The training was focused on the interactive learning packages that should be designed to cater the changing ways of training with the advancement of information technology. 23 (Twenty Three) national and international participants from different reputed institutions, MFIs, corporate entities and universities attended the training.
